He is a man who is less driven my morality and more bound by doing whatever is necessary to survive. 
Faulklin is submissive to one and only one. He has a tendency to draw people in. Faulklin can be charming, 'understanding' even, give great advice. That does not mean that he actually likes people or interacting with them. He has always viewed himself as the 'strong' one. Whether it is physically or emotionally, Faulklin is not one to break easily. This is even more true when the man is fighting for others. When he chooses to, he is extremely protective, and the soldier in him would easily lay his life on the line to save Leithal. While saving many lives may not be a strong motivator, there is nothing he will not do for the select few that he deeply cares for. For them, Faulklin will fight for long after others may have quit.  Most humans have found themselves dumbstruck in his presence. Always poking around at things he shouldn’t be, and having a mouth that might sputter out a random thought or two that seemingly comes across his mind. Although he can be tact when the moment calls for it, Faulklin is known to be a tad bit… quirky. As his mind can be focused on one thing and in a moment, can flicker onto a completely different subject. Not many can differentiate if this is a negative of positive quality about the King. Except when it does come to magic and ways of perfecting his art. He can be the most studious Witch you’d seen. Riffling through archives of books and spending hours on end in the catacombs. At least… until he remembers that he’s but a chapter left from finishing his favorite novels. Lying through his teeth is practically second nature for Faulklin. It tends to happen out of habit though he does it as a way to direct someone away from a certain topic, such as his past, or even to push a person in the "right" direction. But mainly to protect himself. Ever since he was little, Faulklin always had to take care of himself. This hasn't changed over time in the slightest. Faulklin still relies on himself and will always rely on himself, not matter who's around him. He hates having outside help and having to depend on someone for everything he needs. So he constantly refuses help form other people, even if he really needs it. Faulklin has the ability to flip a situation on it's head and put himself in control. He only feels comfortable when he's in control of himself and others; if the control gets out of his hand, then he'll do anything to get it back. He can make someone think that they're in the total wrong when in fact, they're probably right. However, because of his need for everything to be his way, he will do his damndest to make it so.

→ despite his cold, manipulative nature towards others, Faulklin has a huge soft spot for his sister. she's his pride and joy, and he loves her dearly. he would do anything for her, including killing anyone that stands in her way. he displays only the kindest part of him to her, and anyone else he thinks is worthy of such kindness. there are very few people he cares for outside his sister, and have seen this side of him. he doesn't display this kindness to himself -- he's careless of any bodily harm or any danger he gets himself into.
→ despite his upbringing and the early death of his parents, Faulklin never truly grew up to be a responsible adult
→ He is popularly known as "the demon king" from the songs written of Queen Leithal and her mysterious lover because of the large horns he used to have. No one seems to know where they have gone, but he is still portrayed with them. He misses his horns very much pls come back
